In 2006, editor Larry Smith challenged the readers of his publication SMITH magazine to write a 6-word memoir inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s short story: For sale: Baby shoes, never worn. (Yep, six words).

In the spirit of Smith’s challenge, let’s create our own six-word memoirs. Here are some examples from famous folks:

  • Might as well eat that cookie. Paula Deen
  • Every problem has a creative solution. Donna Karan
  • Mindy Kaling wore sequins to everything.  Mindy Kaling

Now it’s your turn. On Friday I’ll announce FIVE WINNERS. Each winner will receive a Write Uncaged mouse pad (pictured above).

To enter: Write your six-word memoir, then add your name and email. Type out your email like this: mary @ marydemuth dot com. If I don’t have an email addy, I can’t pick your entry.
